I arrived at 3ish, danced in the reggae tent so i could enjoy it before too many people got there and filled the place up with smoke.
It was great for a about an hour then the drunk / sleazy or just completely out of it yet well meaning blokes started to really spoil it.
There was one old guy who kept on offereing me cigarettes and following me around with a burning fag in his hand, even after I kept moving away from him.
He kept spitting out big greeny flobs on the grass and throwing burning fag ends on the ground, so I put my sandals back on to avoid stepping on something burning / disgusting.
At one point he insisted on telling me that he'd done his back in and harrassed me to pour water on his back, which I reluctantly did, at which point he proclaimed "Awww youuaa durn it nwaaawh arve gawn and shat miself!" What a charming man!
Then there was the very fluffy yet completely annoying steward who for some reason was wearing several layers of clothing and a big coat. Unsurprisingly he stank and kindly offered to wipe my perspiring brow with a filthy (and I mean minging) old towel he was carrying around. Lots of times.
I left at about 5 as I just couldn't take these 2 blokes any more.
I met up with a few friends but they got pissed off with the blokes before I did and left.
I really enjoyed the first hour or so. The second hour was also marred by solution sound annoncing that they were keeping it mellow and holding back the basslines and 'fire' for later, which was frankly gutting as I can't survive long without basslines.
I saw some punk band who were really good for a while, punk isn't really my thing but they had a wicked energy and if it wasn't for the huge crowd and the accompanying cloud of smoke I would have checked them out for longer.
Popped home, grabbed my cossie and went for a swim on the heath which was divine.
Hope you all have / had a great time
