Big game for England today

I'm just chuffed the arrogant twats lost. I don't care who wins the World Cup so long as it's not Ponting et al.

arrogant? No - I don't think so. Great - not arrogant.

This Aussie team is right up there with the WIndies from the 80s as the best team in my living memory.

They are legends imho and not at all arrogant.

Yes, I have to agree with this. Ponting is the best batsman in the world by a distance at the moment, but is as humble as they come, and proffers no excuses when he does occasionally lose.

Windies were a marginally better all round team IMO - Aussies rely on McGrath and Warne, the Windies had 4 or 5 guys sharing the wickets.

Plus no one has a better action than Marshall

Yes, but that's the point, though. As weird as it seems, but the arrogance seems to surface more with these Bruces' when they lose. I know it sounds strange, but that's the impression I get when I hear them being interviewed after a loss. Which to be fair, isn't often.:(

I heard they are all going to be knighted;)
eta except Colly,he gets to root the Queen as well

Look I know his form was a bit off for the last 6 weeks, but surely that is a cruel and unusual punishment; european law is fairly clear on issues such as this.

So you heard Ponting say that our batting was disgraceful and England bowled really well??He said that and more at the post match interview.Seems you only hear what you want too:rolleyes:

Or what the radio tells us snowy, they edit the interview mate. I heard Pontings interview too, and it was all about how crap Australia were and not how good England were.

Bloody media innit

Still, if your lot roll over again in the next game, we can all go home

I do realise that you only get what the media want you to get but to see or hear it first hand here makes me wonder what happens to the rest of the information available to the other side of the world.Through the world wide web its available to all of us.And i hate being called a BRUCE:mad:

FUCKING COME ON

Australia 41-4 in reply to England's 246-8 in the second game, ball swinging like a demon. Hayden, Ponting, Gilchrist and Clarke all gone.

OMG...this cloud be one of the greatest comebacks in Cricket considering the flack this team has had. You've go to take your hats off to the strength of their character.

Listening on the radio now...looking good.

140-8, rain's back, Hodge is out, Australia are fucked.

This is great from the Grauniad OBO page:
"Just as well Australia didn't meet any serious competition in this series, otherwise they might really have struggled. Perhaps on of the Australians could lend coach John Buchanan one of their natty little white towels if he needs something to wipe the egg off his face."
You little beauties.

3 in a row against the Aussies in Australia is shit hot by any standards. Gave them a hammerig today too to finish it off. I'm not getting carried away about World Cup chances, but at least there is a ray of hope after a dreadful winter.

aaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh,me boys me boyz, whats happened to youz?
Well done to Fred and the team,a great comeback if ever i saw one.Your backs were well and truly against the wall and your team showed true tenacity and character to salvage some pride from what would have been a truly forgettable summer.I dips me lid:cool: Well done

I have so many hats I just can't seem to find my "I was right about Paul Collingwood" hat at the moment, which is a shame given recent events.

At least that's one Aussie who's acting noble. Cheers, Bruce!

imagine if this guy was English!!

Nice one Snowypat for showing the first sign of sportsmanship i've seen in ages from any fan!

If you were English and twas the other way round, you'd be slagging us 'Aussies' off, slating your team and calling for the managers head!

NEW CAPTAIN!

Result! (so was the psychological turnaround down to KP's absence, Vaughny's brief return or what?)

Snowypat is a gent

Ponting gave a great interview after the defeat, fair dinkum

I don't reckon the Aussie team are any more arrogant than any other, the press behaved like a bunch of twats and deserve to eat humble pie but I wouldn't expect the UK press to behave any better, probably worse in fact.

KP gave a very downbeat interview in The Times yesterday. Which is understandable to the extent that he left the tour at its nadir. But I'm not sure how well his return will work. He seemed to become a bit of a divisive figure at times.
