Bestival roll call

I went a couple of years ago, it was excellent. Spent a large part of the weekend in the WI tea and cake tent  It's a really nice size festival.

The fact that my car broke down right outside the festival gates was less fun. Had to get the AA to tow me to the ferry, then tow me off again the other side.

reviewing it:cool:  Is there going to be a little meetup?

Good blag work

I think a meet up is definitely in order though. Who's in and when/where? I've never been at all (the Isle of Wight is abroad isn' it ) so don't know any of the festie landmarks.

That sounds like a plan :)

Maybe something like 2pm on Saturday?

Why aren't you going? There are still tickets - you know you want to be there. :)

Ok-bag packed, off tonight on motorbike with far too many silly dresses:cool: Just a thought-might be packed at the Bollywood tent so maybe make it at the RIGHT hand side, Sat twp pm and maybe repeat on Sunday for those who could not make Sat? I will be wearing a long electric blue hippy dress with gold braiding and unfortunately red wine vomit stains:o

I wouldn't worry too much about the train strike. If itr ends up really desperate gat the train to reading and get the virgin train from there. ( I am of course making gross assumptions about you all living in london though)

Got an email yesterday saying the train we'd booked got cancelled. Actually it's all the trains to Portsmouth Harbour from Waterloo that are cancelled

Didn't know about the Virgin trains. Panicked for a bit then found out Southern trains are running from Victoria to Portsmouth Harbour. It goes round the houses a bit and takes longer though. We are getting there late as it is :(

I thought the strike was only tomorrow, but it appears to be on Monday too. Up the workers and all that, but why on Monday too!!! It's hard enough sorting things out after sleeping in a field for 3 days, let alone having to deal with a train strike...

Oh well. I suppose it makes you appreciate the festie more if you've suffered a bit with the travelling.

If you see my mates from the island Wendy and Luge, say hello to them.

Wendy is in pink, and Luge, purple, apparently. Am v jealous of you all. Have an amazing time!

just got back and showered.... ahhhh.. annnnd relax.......

boy that was one good weekend, some great moments... class festival.. ;)

been in a few hours, but really knackered. My feet really really hurt. Well worth it though. Bestival was loads of fun. I've got about 1,500 photos to sort out

Only just got round to posting but for the first time ever we left a festival early

The infrastructure of the whole festival absolutely atrocious - the lack of bogs was a disgrace and I was amazed that there were no water points in the one set of loos in the main arena. The lack of staff in both the main bars was really surprising too. From people we got chatting to it seems that although the capacity of the festival increased from 10k to 15k none of the infrastructure was.

Plus we were victims of the oldest tent thieving trick in the book which was really fucking annoying. Some thieving cunt reached into the tent while we were both asleep and nicked a pair of jeans which just happened to have a wallet, phone and camera in them. Should have really been in the bottom of the sleeping bag for safety but sods law the first time we forgot they got nicked   Can all be claimed back on insurance but annoying none the less.

That said we saw some great bands - particularly Kid Carpet, Hot Chip and Shitdisco who were brilliant. But by Sunday at about 7pm we'd had enough and both wanted to go home :(
