Bestival 2008 line-up!

bumpity bump. I'm soo looking forward to this, just me and my best mate, she's driving, I hope the weather's good! :):):)

Got several festivals lined up for the summer but reckon this'll be the messiest (=best). First I've seen of the fancy dress theme, will have to get thinking, might have something.....

Looking at the line up, I think I'm going to be post-ironic and not go and see Aphex Twin not turn up while playing hard gabba.

There is a lot to see at that festival, I reckon I'll be on shift for all the best stuff.

im stewarding at this festival for oxfam..im hoping the promised free ferry crossing for stewards will materialise:cool: im a foot passenger so if i have to pay its not tooo bad...the rates for cars are obscene tho :(

william..re the stewarding, i recommend giving it a go next year.sure ive had some negative things to say about it on urban(not all negative obviously)it is the luck of the draw as far as who you are working with, where you are working(you could be miles from the music or in actually music tent that you want to be in)and the shifts they stick you with..try working midnight to 8am(not fun..fingers crossed i dont get that again )

did you know you dont get the £165 deposit back til after you work yr last festival, but its that same deposit regardless if you work 1 fest or 5.also you can sign up to work with yr partner..which has got to make it worth trying for 1 festival if money is tight..if i had done this with a like minded freind i would have enjoyed it more..

You get three 8 hour shifts, one morning, one afternoon and one night, so expect another night shift.

Says all this and more on the website and the forums.

Fortunately, no.

I tell you what though, those SOS guys must have pulled in some money.. Between 300-500 V tickets is a fair old sum, add the George Michael tickets, some of which were £375 each(!), and Madonna tickets and someone is having a nice holiday.

Well, I should have read the ticket receipt more carefully.

Booked through Red Funnel and they give us the festival tickets at check-in for the ferry.

Or so it says.

Yeah they did that last year, you have to collect them from their ticket office at the dock in Southampton, I think you might need some ID or something.

Last year one of their ferries was out of service, utter utter chaos. :D

I'd love to go to this. Does anyone know the chances of there being tickets available on the door? I heard in previous years they had some. Or there seem to be a bunch on ebay but I'm a bit scared of getting ripped off - never bought tickets on ebay before - any advice?

AFAIK it's sold out with no tickets on the gate, do you think you'd like it brainaddict? :hmm:

It's pretty commercial that's all! :D

We haven't booked our ferry yet :o

More importantly I don't have a costume!:(

I think Bestival was the most forged ticket of any festival in 2007, 1 in 5 of the tickets presented were fake.

You can get them on ebay, just ask to see all receipts. Follow the standard ebay buying rules, things like 100+ feedbacks and you should be fine. If your really worried, only buy from someone in London and then you can go collect them.

Plenty of them on there, so if you wanted to come you could. Ticket was 130 quid, most are still going for a bit more than that, some as high as 175 per ticket. I would wait till closer to the day and send people messages offering them a reasonable price for them.

What do you mean about seeing receipts sunray? I can't see a receipt before I've paid I guess, by which time if it's a fake it's too late. Or am I missing something?

How commercial is commercial zenie? Do they tattoo your forehead with the Nike swoosh as you walk in the gate? :hmm:
There are good bands and people I know are going so I don't think I'd hate it.

Irritatingly Oxfam tell me really late that I can get the ferry free. Grrr. I was all organised and bought the ticket ages ago. I'd have given it away, but its for Wednesday.

I looking forward to use my new improved super sized tent. Its pretty big, even comes with a door mat. :D
