can someone help me name this film.
It was released approx 3 years ago and is set in port talbot. follows the story of some poor working class kids and what they get upto.
the director is female and won a fairly prestigious award for it and was concequently shown once on late night ITV.
i know thats abit spurious but i'v ebeen trying to track it down for ages.
Twin Town - a mate of mine is in it - played one of the detectives. It has been the bane of his life as everyone thinks he is very rich. However like a lot of actors he is just getting by. Great film though.
Milwr Bychan (Boy Soldier) by Karl Francis is pretty good
Un Nos Ola Leuad by Endaf Emlyn is one of the only Welsh films (or Welsh language anyway) ready to loosen up it's style, and have a more European feel to it. Gadael Lenin (Leaving Lenin) by the same director was good too.
Twin Town can't exactly be classed as a great film but I loved it all the same.
Last Days of Dolwyn is an excellent watch too (except for the weird caricatures of village folk)
Things have dried up something awful in the last few years though...
Anybody seen the doc called Senghennydd, made in the late 60s? That was amazing.
"David" - 1950 film vox populii about Ammanford and the life of local poet and writer Amanwy - priceless documentary about the town and culture.
And for a good laugh - the pricelless "A run for your money" (Ealing comedy) about Twm and Dai number 9 on their trip to the wicked city and Twickenham.
