Best Weapon in a Computer Game EVER! What's Yours?

"whats that noise? who's got the RCP-90" - a statement made during countless Goldeneye sessions.

I was surgical with the AR-64 (a bit like an M16) in that game, give me that and some proximity mines and I was unstopable!

Does the 'Dreadnaught' from 'Dawn of War come into this catergory? Or is there a RTS sub-catergory for best weapon? As the dreadnaught stomps into troops grabbing them shaking the around and then chucking them over its shoulder all while blasting them with a flamethrower.... moo ha ha ha. I think the C&C General Overlord tank should get an honourable mention.

the Blaster Launcher in X-Com Enemy Unknown.

even though it is a turn-based game I laughed like a maniac the first time I used that.

Oh yes, anything from resident evil 4, but i was always happiest with a full upgraded pistol. Or the mine gun.... or the broken butterfly,....

You should! Very different to COD. A lot less standard FPS run and shoot. Got a nice sense of pace and progression. Though can be hellish in places (either due to hardness or the occasional peice of sloppy design). Damn good game though.

Oh shit yeah I think I remember that one. Nightmare

Don't know to be honest. Never actually played MOH :o (and I don't do consoles ;))

I dragged out Call of Duty again last night. I still can't beat that fucking level.

I cant believe no one has mentioned the shock rifle from unreal tournament 2004 - by far the best weapon in the game. Primary fire mode is like the rail gun in quake 2/3 (?), secondary fires glowing balls of stuff that cause a big blast on impact, knocking people over cliffs, stopping vehicles and flipping them over etc. Beast of all though was the fact that if you shoot the slow moving ball things with primary fire mode they explode extremely violently, which is a one shot kill machine if you get the timing right.

Nah, the plasma rifle was better. I like those Zoom InstaGib pimped up shock rifles though.

The demonic longbow in Morrowind was a surprisingly satisfying weapon, especially if your character had good marksmanship skills. One shot, one kill almost every time.

Save it. I've played online shooters before.

"We're just here to have fun!"

I never said I wouldn't do it, just that I'd expect other players to totally attempt to own.
Yeah but that's still fun! Seriously though, plenty of people who didn't think they'd be that great playing with us joined, had fun and their skill level has gone up. We discuss tactics and share ideas about the best way to play certain maps so there's plenty of opportunity to raise your game.:)

The jackhammer came in handy in Max Payne also.

oh yeah, ALL the weapons have their unique charm on Max Payne - there was just something about the grittiness of the sawn-off that perfectly matched the game's hardcore atmosphere.

One of the greatest games ever IMO.

I think Hitman is somewhat similar.
