Best Weapon in a Computer Game EVER! What's Yours?

A bit different, but I love the fuck off big scythes you can get in Neverwinter Nights. And the Entropy gun in XCOM Apocalypse has to be one of the most fearsome baddie weapons ever.

I liked the law giver in judge dredd . Shot someone with incendries and they run around till they burn to a skeleton . And high explosive is good stuns sorrounding enemies into surrender when one of them explodes .

ok - my first 4 choices have already been sort of mentioned:

Mario kart - various
Syndicate - (was going to go for the long ranged lasers).
Golden Eye - (various)
Perfect Dark - sentry guns

so I'll go for... ummm.... well, nothing makes me happier than getting a red shell on the last corner of a 2-player Mario Kart race... so I'll vote for that.

yeah it's got to be the M4 from counter strike, so fucking satisfying especially with the silencer on.

Headshotting with the scout is also great.

I really hate spacey weapons.

The weapons in half life 2 were disappointing, well apart from the gravity gun and the rocket launcher.

HL2 was disappointing :(

more of an anti climax than the crying game :(

yeah it was abit wasn't it.

felt more like a linear rollercoaster than a game.

And it was way too easy.

still it was good.

Stellar Converter in Masters of Orion 2
Howitzers in Civ2
Barratt .50 sniper rifle in Delta Force
Double Sword Technique in Baldur's Gate

Has to be :-

Rail gun : Quake 3, its splendid for Rail Instagib CTF games.

Additional.

Not really a specified weapon but. Ice Claws in Diablo 2 on an assasin when using the Pheonix Powerup...stunning...hwatch them freeze then zapped with electricity and then have a meteor land on them :D then for double the fun have 1 in each hand and use the speed up spell funny as (even in hell mode it kicks some ass)

I cant believe no one has mentioned the shock rifle from unreal tournament 2004 - by far the best weapon in the game. Primary fire mode is like the rail gun in quake 2/3 (?), secondary fires glowing balls of stuff that cause a big blast on impact, knocking people over cliffs, stopping vehicles and flipping them over etc. Beast of all though was the fact that if you shoot the slow moving ball things with primary fire mode they explode extremely violently, which is a one shot kill machine if you get the timing right.

yeah the shock rifle is class, I always liked that weapon that fired the artillery-like shells which was primary fire mode like razor blades and secondary fire mode just lobbed the shell in a big fuck-off splash damage mode...

Die Hard Trilogy on PS1 - came with a green gun you pointed at the screen and you could shoot almost part of the scenery to pieces.. excellent fun - even if I never played the other two games :D

The earthquake weapon in Wipeout.

The banana bomb from Worms :D

(never really liked the 1st person shooter genre - except Call of Duty, though I vaguely remember the BFG from early Doom)

Anyone remember Syndicate on the Amiga?

The Gauss Gun was HUGELY entertaining. I used to corall a load of pedestrians into a corner and wipe the lot out.

oh fuk yeh!!!

the indoctrinator was ace!!!!

getting a posse of civilians to go on a killing spree!!! :D

the cerbral core gun on torok!!!!

gravity gun on half life 2!

the remote mines on goldeneye

the anti-aircraft minigun tank on operation flashpoint..

"engineering" bloke from command and conquer

I like the M16 in GTA San Andreas. Also, the plain old M16 in CS is the most reliable and accurate, for my money.

The rifles are always overlooked in these games. Everybody wants an SMG. But they aren't very accurate, don't have the power.

Talking of rifles, not assault ones mind, the M1 Garand in Call of Duty has one of the most satisfyings fire, eject, reload sounds.

Then there is also the weak but fun Russian PPSh-41 and the awesome and incredibly deadly German MP40.

I kind of prefer the Thompson submachine gun in that game, but it tends to run out of ammo too soon.

Also, that's a damnably hard game.

I prefer the Thompson in Brothers in Arms ;) Though yeah I know what you mean about ammo in COD. The MP40 is just so practicle in that game after awhile.

COD is pretty mental when you start ramming up the difficulty. Especially that British mission in the German dam

Actually all the weapons in COD are pretty cool. There is the Sten and that big German assault rifle to.

The level that screwed me up is the American one, taking the town as infantry support behind the tanks.

I don't think I've played Brothers in Arms yet.

How is MOH European Assault, btw?

You should! Very different to COD. A lot less standard FPS run and shoot. Got a nice sense of pace and progression. Though can be hellish in places (either due to hardness or the occasional peice of sloppy design). Damn good game though.

Oh shit yeah I think I remember that one. Nightmare

Don't know to be honest. Never actually played MOH :o (and I don't do consoles ;))

I like the MOH series, although they got kind of stingy with the number of levels, especially in Rising Sun.

And speaking of weapons, the Japanese weapons in that game, esp the machine guns, are for shit.

Wq3432454

Tactical 12-gauge/Injector on Time Splitters

Sawn off shotgun on Max Payne.

Rocket launcher in Unreal Tournament.

oh but my total favourite is the Krieg, its just such a beautiful weapon and better than the bullpup IMHO. You can get nice headshots from a quick burst and pick off distant enemies too! I find the pullpup a bit hard to handle personally

*wanders off for some more hilarious CS screenshots to paste on the U75clan website* :D

did any one play the "cold ice" mod on half-life. it was ace.

full of big guns and alot of noise.

It had a rocket launcher that could fire 3 rockets at once or 6 one after another, a shotgun that worked like a machine gun and a dynamite vest.

genius

and bizarly it didnt ruin the game play.

Yeah the Krieg is cool but the Pup is just so futuristic looking! :D
