Nothing like an omelette sandwich. Pity I forgot to add it to the poll.

Not sure about the sandwich, but omelette is the only way to go. Added just before folding a small amount of good cheddar and onion. lovely

Deep frying pan with at least an inch of water in it.

Bring water to the boil and then turn off the heat. As soon as the water stops boiling add your egg(s) and leave them until they are cooked (3-4mins)

Et voila. The perfik pooch deg.

Poached egg are the best by the way followed by soft boiled with toasted dippy soldiers :)

That's an interesting method - I shall try it out...

A couple of days ago I would have said boiled, but now its poached all the way...
My Mum showed me how to do them properly and not have them end up a big eggy mess - which is how they always turned out when Ive done them before - and now I can cook a perfect poached egg and its gorgeous.
Like someones mentioned before - egg on a slice of wholemeal toast with a sprinkle of pepper is GORGEOUS.

Can I share with you a unique method off cooking eggs which I have discovered. You know those stove top steamer pans, where the steamer pan sits on top of a normal saucepan. well what you do is break the egg into a small bowl or desert cup, and put it in the steamer.

Cook for about three minutes for a perfect poached egg with minimal washing up, and no snot on top of the egg and the maximum amount of runny yoke. The best part is there is mimimal washing up just the bowl it was cooked in.

Make a plain omelette and stick it in a baggette with some salad. Best brunch ever.

Mmmm.

Yeah I tried that but I found the egg stuck too much. If you do it my way there is 'no' washing up, no stuck egg, and you have the perfect poached egg.

I forgot to mention that I put a little drop of oil in the blow and give it a quick rub round. I am planning to buy some little nonstick desert cups.

I respect your method, but you have to stand there waiting for the water to boil turning in down so it is not bubling, Add a drop of vinigar to stop the egg breaking up, find a clean ladel, get the timer out, then scoop out your egg that is probably falling to bits dripping water everywhare,

And after you have finished you have a loverl pan of egg water to deal with. and a salmernella covered ladel to deal with.

I garantee you there is no lazier method of cooking eggs that the steamer method.

I dissagree as I have also put the oil in the bowl and don't like the washing up I have to do.

When I ladel the egg in, I leave the ladel in for a little while with the egg. I the relelase the egg carfuly and leave the ladel in the water beside it.

My eggs have never fallen apart and I only leave them for two minutes.

My second favorate way is ploping the egg in cling film and dipping it in the boiling water with the (bag) secured in place by the pan lid.

Haven't read the thread. I can't, poached eggs even reading about them churn my stomach and make me wanna puke, sorry.

The best way to eat an egg imo is in a cake :D
