ah, so that was GSYBE eh? Loved the soundtrack thoughout, assumed it was totally commissioned. Got very excited that films might opt for a a punk band instead of an orchestra in future, but it seems a one off - series7 did it earlier tho with a band called Boys Against Girls*.

GYBE are much more orchestracal than punk thou.........

I thoughtb the lounge version of 'Disturbed's "get down with the sickness" was very well done in the new dawn of the dead.

Most of the Soundtrack for the new Dawn of the Dead is spot on.
That Johnny Cash track at the start is great too.

The Pixies' Where is My Mind in Fight Club is just soo bloody obvious a piece of music to choose. Ditto all the music in Donnie Darko, or any use of techno lite stuff in sci-fi's. They might be great tracks, they might bre great films, but they're dull and obvious pairings that indicate nearly seven seconds went into thinking about the soundtrack - or rather how much extra wonga they could squeeze out of people even if the film flopped.

Anyway.....

Pressure Drop in The Harder They Come,
Man of constant Sorrow in O Brother, Where Art Thou?,
Fight the Power in Do the Right Thing
Little Child Runnin' Wild &Freddies Dead from Superfly (unless they were specially written for the film, but I dont think so)
