Best thing with Custard?

Its the business with golden syrup, mmmmmmm:)
 
At last, Lynne8 mentions treacle tart. The only thing for custard. And runny custard at that. Here it is called 'Creme Anglaise' I intend, as my life's work, to get the little garlicky heathens to heat it up.
