dignity is overrated
oh yeah, stand by me. of course. blates.
was there not a tommyknockers film
I've seen The Stand a zillion times - read the book twice - and while it's far from a cinema masterpiece I do love it. Rob Lowe is also in it - he plays the deaf/mute Nick Andross. Unfortunately though the guy who plays Randall Flagg is nothing near scary.
I really like the beginning of the film - Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear The Reaper features over the opening scene.

I read that recently. It wasn't bad, certainly better than most of the stuff he's written in the last decade or so. Not as good as his early stuff though. He's also reading King's latest The Duma Key, which is about a writer who suffers a terrible road accident (which happened to King also)

Liked the book a lot but not seen the film
I saw it years ago, it's a bit b-movie ish, well very, but I really loved the novel approach to time travel it had...

It's rather well produced, isn't it? Clearly it's not a big budget affair, but it does a lot with its resources and a little creativity.
I'd like to see it again actually...
