best queen song - the nominations

i'd be up for it...
You really have to like them - three day of nothing but. Queen tribute bands, queen discos, queen dance lessons, queen, well, everything really :D

The level of dedication some people have to them is quite scary at times, I'll see if I can dig out some photos and post them up :D

Interesting nobody's mentioned Bohemian Rhapsody yet - perhaps it's just been over played to death and everyone's sick of it

I'm not really a Queen fan. But I guess my faves would be either Radio Ga Ga, One Vision, or Another One Bites The Dust.

i'd agree with you there - it's an astounding piece of music in many ways, but we've just heard it too many times...

i was a massive Queen fan up to about The Game, after that I couldn't abide them. And then just went off them entirely, but i do have a soft spot for a lot of the early stuff - reckon Sheer Heart Attack is under-rated, for a start... But the rot started to set in on Jazz, The Game is pretty poor and then - pfft!

i'd agree album-wise, they dipped after news of the world - but there's still some great songs on all of the albums.

i though innuendo was a collosal return to form after years of mediocre albums too...

Nothing later than ANOTO for me, and preferably much earlier. I like Flick Of The Wrist and The Night Comes Down in particular.

Stone Cold Crazy or Sheer Heart Attack.

I've been to 3 or 4 Queen Conventions! The last one was in about 1998 though & it was getting proper weird back then, I dread to think what it's like now.

I've never been to a convention, but i did see them at the NEC the week it opened cos I won tickets on Tiswas :D

Got to be Ogre Battle.

Out of the more popular ones, Seven Seas of Rye - great rock stomp that.

awwwwwwwwwwww I love Ogre Battle, and The Fairy Fellers Masterstroke.

This is my last post on this thread :(

There's such a thing as a 'best' Queen song?  'Least worst', surely, and that's being kind!

....

Oh go on then ... I've listened to 'Having a Good Time' so many times at work, and seen so many people enjoying thrmselves with it on, that I can't hate it. It's shit, but it's funny shit in the same way as Chesney Hawkes: of comedic value only. That's about as close as I get to liking a Queen song...
