I loved Stardust. Only saw the first of the LOTR films and wasnt impressed. Harry Potter films were OK.

I couldn't even finish watching Stardust, I decided that even pissing about on the internet would be a better use of my time

Harry Potter film series
The Lord of the Rings film trilogy
The Chronicles of Narnia film series / The Chronicles of Narnia
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Pan's Labyrinth
Pirates of the Caribbean films
The Science of Sleep
King Kong
Nanny McPhee
Eragon
Night Watch / Day Watch
Stardust
The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising
The Golden Compass
300
I Am Legend :hmm:
10,000 BC
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

Eh, half of them aren't fantasy films.

I kinda like Troll. It's not epic like many other fantasy films (say LOTR) but it is funny, and it's got both Sonny Bono and a young Julia Louis-Dreyfus in it.

I would vote Lord of the Rings trilogy but I think the film MirrorMask (2005) should be on the list as well, it's certainly the best compared to The Labyrinth and Neverending Story (it's that sort of film, but very well done).

Excalibur should at least get a mention, maybe not the best, but still decent.

Plus there are loads of Chinese ones worth a look ...

Excalibre, fucking A. I was always impressed by how shinny their armour was, considering they wore their armour all the time.

Someone mentioned The Princess Bride, I enjoyed that alot as well, but not really as a fantasy film, more as a funny and enjoyable comedy. Fantasy films should be predominantly about escapism to worlds that don't exist.

haven't seen stardust yet, haven't seen any of the potters, or read them, liked golden compass, but felt lotr edged it

The Princess Bride obviously.
