Best Metal Band EVER.

Everyone knows Blue Oyster Cult and Sandy Pearlman invented heavy metal.

As for who's the best - AC/DC, BOC, Motorhead or Sabbath depending what day of the week it is.

are slayer neo-nazis? :(

Well I don't know, but a few of their songs are a bit dodgy - odes to Josef Mengele etc.
Btw if we're counting Black Sabbath as heavy metal, they're definitely number one.

The last time I saw them play (about 12 years ago) Kerry King was sporting a confederate flag t-shirt with the legend 'You wear your X, I'll wear mine'.

Given that Tom Araya is half native american so Im not sure theyre white supremacists.

There's NOTHING in the Zep canon that is as metal as Sweet Leaf or Children Of The Grave.

Well, thats bollocks, IMO. In my time of dying is VERY METAL, but I do agree that they are a (very loud) blues band with a bit of pixieness.

Personally I'd say its between Motorhead and ACDC with Motorhead winning because of the personalities in the band.

I also fucking loved KISS in their make up days, but I can't imagine they'd be a popular choice for some reason.

Warrant.

Led Zep. Black Sabbath. ACDC. Oh, and Motorhead. In that order. Or any order. Everything else is bunk.

(Despite being gleefully ignorant of modern-day metal I do like it's progenitors enough to tell you all again how wrong you are).

So you dont know what your talking about and you hacvent listened to any new music in about two decades...

Your a Q reader aint you?

Pantera anybody????

Listen to Far Beyond Driven, now THAT'S metal!!!

Maiden, Motorhead, early Metallica, Arch Enemy, anything that gets your head banging is metal for me.

No mention of Sepultura? I prefer them to Slayer.

I saw Sepultura supporting Slayer about ten years ago. Cor, that was a great gig :)
As Belushi says though, only a few of their tracks really stand out.

Any new metal.

Meaning I've listened to loooooaaaaaads of music in the last "two decades", new and old - just nothing by barbershop refugees pointing their fingers in the air and screaming about how disloyal their 'chicks' are in girls' voices.

Anyway, I'm off listening to the Super Furry Animals now. You really don't know what you're missing. Enjoy being anachronistic badasses.
