He'd have got more votes than Big Daddy Kane, GZA and fucking Redman.

Can I just say what most people think?

Sadken, please leave urban and never return.

Ohh so i was right with quick witted(other then when battling jin for 50k obviously)

Pg is class. That boy had better find a new deal soon. I need more stuff by him!

Both class jokes tunes.

Is that "leave urban" like you said you were going to do recently? Or do you mean "leave urban" like someone who isn't a jumped up, huffy little attention seeker might do?

Being a good MC is just about the quality of your lyrics then?

Well, are you telling me that lyrics are not important? Within the context of what he does that Stevie does what he is supoosed to do - essentially hype up the crowd. But are you seriously suggesting that what he does can be compared to the work of Rakim, GZA, Melle Mel, Nas, Percee P?

Perhaps it might be more appropriate to have a separate thread entitled 'The Best MC (Non Hip Hop).

Can't believe I'm the only person who voted for Big Daddy Kane!

I mean, I know he was a bit pop ... the Madonna sex book and all that ... but I always felt he took all the Rakim wordplay to its logical conclusion, cramming in rhymes until he pushed things to the edge of intelligibility but still having a real charm and wit and instinct for a lyrical hook. Ah well.

Also think MF Doom should be there in some form or another ... he pushed things one step further, I often feel he's reverse-engineering his rhymes from a dictionary.

But I guess there's justice in Rakim winning.

mf doom was next on the list but for some reason i thought you could only have 9 poll options not 12 and couldnt be arsed to re edit my op.
