Dunno about underrated, HHC just had a PE cover and celebrated Nation...as the best HH album ever, with support from various rappers in the mag. I think for non-hip hop fans you're probably rightish but for fans of the genre and kids who take a real interest in it, he is still widely respected and hailed.

Hmmm. By older heads, sure. I'm not so sure many of the younger or more "casual" (god I hate that word, but you get what I mean by it?) fans really understand who he is (other than Chuck D), or how good he is.

Live the other week, he was pretty much as good as anyone I've seen.

Anyway, barring a late run of votes for Ghost, can't see anyone but Rakim taking this now.

And rightly so, Mr Technique deserves his props.

I voted for him out of those options cos, although I really like Nas, I rate Ghostface higher and I'm just a lot more familiar with his stuff than most of the others (barring Guru & Redman, who I wouldn't have voted for in this poll) simply because I'm old enough to buy his stuff as it comes out and get absorbed in it, as opposed to relying on best ofs or the occasional album for the others.
