Because their massive self-regard makes it impossible for them not to "grandstand", to show how much "cleverer" they are than the people they're mocking.

As you've observed this does make them quite visible. :)

Good advice. In 23 years of living in Brixton only once has anyone tried to mug me (and that was 21 years ago!) and I just kept walking and had a word.

I think the trick is to just keep walking if you can.

Anyway, sorry for the derail, Dub, but it's a bit difficult to keep on topic when returning cunts keep reappearing like a bubbling pustule on the smiling face of urban.

Personally, if I am going out to get pissed I only take as much money as I need that night, I don't take any valuables (if I had an iPod or expensive jewelry I wouldn't take it for example) and my mobile is only one of those £20 payg nokia 1100s anyway so the biggest lost would be any phone numbers I hadn't written down.

I also take the approach of being careful about routes home (will take a longer route to avoid dark alleys and quiet roads) and I won't stop to talk to anyone - I'll politely but clearly let people know that I am not in the moood to be fucked with if they so much as approach or talk to me if I am somewhere I don't like.

exactly the same thing happened to a friend of mine on Acre Lane (he woke up stumbling along with a bleeding head and no belongings, being helped by some passing black guy). He wonders if he was coshed - but it doesn't take much to knock a drunk out.

I'm not making you leave, you can stay as long as you like, I enjoy taking the piss out of you and your failed two faced mates. And I'm more than adequate to cope with the likes of you, Harry Potter.

It's just that you flounced, then changed your mind and returned, when your doomed little website did precisely the thing it was set up in reaction to this one doing - only instead of banning the surplus twats like this one did, it did a dissensus part 2 and banned everyone as the original moderators ran away covering their ears...

Just to get back on topic, if I was a mugger I'd specifically avoid pissed victims, because (a) they're more likely to do something silly like resist, and (b) they've probably spent all their money. At least that's what happened when I was pissed and got mugged.

They are usually after phones, laptops or i-Pods anyway, not money.
