IMO, this is where its at.Its like sitting in a Focke Wolfe that

Totally agree with you that the 911 is utter perfection, but for some reason I just couldn't live with an '80s version, it would either have to be an early '70s version, or a '90s 964 (I keep telling the missus it'll be our next car) or a mid 90s 993 (Too expensive though. ) Modern water-cooled 996s & 997s just leave me cold.

This would be the ultimate car for me. A Maritme Blue 964 with slightly lowering H&R springs, an RS flywheel and an RS steering wheel with black leather interior. But not a Tiptronic like in the picture. Wonderful.

It was an old car then and my dad was embarrassed not to have a more modern car but I loved it
It was like sitting in a tank it was so massive inside and the lines are so gorgeously curvy
It broke my heart when he sold it to one of my uncles, who then broke it down for scrap

It would even have wiped the floor with the Ford Escort RS if Fiat company politics - and desire not to see the Fiat 131 thrashed by its own stablemate - hadn't caused it to be pulled out of major competition in 1975. Even so, it was still winning into the '80s...
