old crow medicine show were a revelation... live performances are so tied up with other stuff that it's impossible to be even slightly objective about the matter though.

i remember seeing extreme when i was 14 and thinking it was the bestest gig eva.

The three times I've seen Nick Cave, twice with the Bad Seeds and once without, it's always been a fantastic performance. However, nothing can compare with the pure fevered ecstasy of seeing the Smiths twice in Manchester when I was a young whippersnapper. Magic.
