best live band?

Goldblade's early stuff was boring. They only got good on "Rebel Songs"

We'll have to agree to disagree :D

I honestly sincerely without a hint of pisstaking think they're one of the 3 or 4 worst bands I've ever seen in my life (and I've seen them more than 5 times :( )

NoFx
Gogol Bordello
The Damned
Queen
The Specials

Btw - none of them I'd class as my 'favourite' bands but they all do/did stunningly good shows

But presumably then, McFly are your second favourite?

er, no.

the teenager loves mcfly.

yesterday she went off to her dad's oop north for the summer.

a few hours after she'd gone, the missus found out that she had won two tickets to see mcfly at koko tonight.

poor the teenager :( :D :D

RFTC did one of the best gigs I've ever been to at The Garage. An hour of full-on rock n roll soul review genius, laydeezungennelmen. And I nearly electrocuted them all at one point. You don't get enough of that sort of thing these days.

Queens Of The Stone Age in their prime (with Nick Olivieri and Dave Grohl) took some beating, too. Fucking mindblowingly good the way they could all take a song off in some mental direction and then almost telepathically bring it back together. Neil Young And Crazy Horse tend to leave people walking away with their gobs open. Well they have done with me, at any rate.

Still reckon Nirvana are the best band I've ever seen live, though. The Astoria. 5th November 1991. Kurt Cobain landed on my head. I've still got the ticket. I walked around with a stupid E-like grin on my face for days afterwards.

How could I forget Jon Spencer Blues Explosion?

(actually, I worked out I'd seen about 6 bands a week for a 10 year period, and several a month for several years either side of that, so I'm amazed I remember anything :D )

The shows with Grohl and Lanegan were ace, really superb.

anyway - another vote for RFTC from me (especially when speedo did his fire breathing), and another for the night marchers.
