Quite an appropriate choice of words. One of my favourite Kinks stories is about how the drummer (Mick Avory?) thought he'd killed Dave Davies during a concert when he hit him over the head with a cymbal. Claret everywhere apparently. The drummer then legged it into the audience, leaving Dave with his head split open and the other two wondering what had happened.

Yeah, I've heard this one too - apparently, when he legged it into the audience he was trying to hide - dressed in an outfit that was half-Grenadier Guard and half-circus clown!

The sleeve notes of 'Dreamy Days' actually state: 'Contains elements of 'MacArthur Park' performed by Richard Harris'.

I've got Richard Harris' 'MacArthur Park' o ), and it does form the bulk of the melody for 'Dreamy Days'.

In Cardiff apparently.When I saw Ray Davies play in Cardiff he said it was here that his drummer tried to kill his guitarist.
