Iorla O' Lionaird's work with them is amazing.

Kila are up there, too and not averse to a bit of fusion.

Iarla's leaving left a huge soul shaped hole. . I saw him showcasing his solo album after and it was mesmerising.

there is a very good compilation of Irish post punk from lesser lights of the scene called Strange Passions which is really worth tracking down

I can't remember if they were actually any good or not, but Only Fumes & Corpses from Galway had one of the all-time great punning names, imo.
