Anyway, Oz was too variable, especially as they killed off people like Adabesi and moved Keller in and out. Characters got shallower with every new series. Although can't knock young Bodie in his alternate reality where he still ends up low level.

I learned about rolling stone through GK, I was describing it to a canadian mate 20 years my senior and mentioned it was based on rolling stone journo's account of his time embedded with the 1st recon lot and said 'no idea what a music journo was doing there but' and then got this big speech about how RS was a counterculture bible, you kids don't know you are born with your inernet etc etc

Remind me? I haven't watched it for yonks.

last series was seriously hacked up but it paved the way for Spartacus: Blood and Sand for which we are all ever thankful

Yeah season 2 was... jumbled and you could tell it was really chopped up and squeezed in.

Season 1 is some of the best TV I've ever seen though.

Bodie from the Wire is in Oz. Not as Bodie admittedly but as a young corner boy who ends up inside as the footsoldier/bitch of crazed gang boss and drug dealer Simon Adebisi. Technically different characters but not by much, just imagine Bodie with a drug addiction and no Stringer or Avon to look up to. Child soldier vs grizzled veteran.

e2a: Kenny Wangler.

On an unrelated note Bodie/Kenny/J.D. Williams also appeared in an episode of The Sopranos. HBO alumni. Never did Deadwood though.

incestuos scene, the american TV. People from the wire have turned up in Gotham, Heroes (which is coming back, who asked it to come back?) and many others

Who was in Heroes? Bearing in mind that I stopped watching when it turned to shit.

Same happened with Deadwood and Justified, half of the cast did guest appearances. More or less as the same character too. Not just Raglan Givens but Dan as a knife man too.

bloody hell, actors appearing in more than one show! Who'd have thunk it?
I'm not knocking it, its just certain types of show and that that people turn up on. The strange career path of Eddie Izzard as american show baddie has been interesting

Marlo Stansfield. Played a character whose power was feeding off fear to grow stronger.

a lot of the production companies just sign people up for several years, and then find things to put them in - Damian Lewis was signed for five or six years, so they'll be chucking him into a few things since he was written out of Homeland. that and the producers do like to work with people thy know already.
