I read the book to the devil a daughter and didn't like the politics in it. It also rips off Moonchild by Crowley.

To the devil a daughter and the devil rides out are truly bad films IMO
wooden acting, ridiculous plotlines. The premise of them might have been good at the time but they haven't aged well, unlike the quatermass films which retain the capacity to be scary

Dennis Wheatley is horrible. I read a few of his, but my don't they leave a bad taste in the mouth. The bad occultists in it are so frequently non-
WASP, among other dodgy bits.

IIRC he did some work for the gov during ww1. Or maybe it was 2, my memory is shot through a massive narcotics binge this weekend

Yes, I do rate To the Devil a Daughter. :) Vastly underrated.

Have you checked out The Witches yet?

She is better than 1 million years...though it is not one of my favourites...but the 12 I added to the poll were just the 12 (13 really cos I lumped in Lust and Lovers) that came into my head as I typed.

Twins of Evil is a very special film.:)

I have seen The Witches a long time ago and I remember liking it, though in my memory it merges with the non-Hammer Night of the Eagle.

Which Hammer has Peter Cushing leading a group of Victorian libertine gentlemen who are determined to summon up the Devil as the ultimate thrill? Sample dialogue, Peter Cushing: "We care nothing except for own selfish pleasure!"

Loved the Hammer Horror television series. I don't have a favorite hammer horror film, i prefer some of the other films they did like 'The Nanny' which was more a Psychological thriller. Also like 'The Anniversary' because it's as camp as tit's :)
