Best game you've ever played??????

If you like series, i'd say yeah.

There seems to be a lot of differing opinions amongst fans though as its a different format to the others.....people seem to think its either the best or the worst of the four games.

You go into first person mode within the room, while you go to the normal third person mode when in the other worlds through a portal - its not set around the town of Silent Hill like the other three titles.

Personally, I appreciate that the developers tried to do something different instead of resting on their laurels and simply making a bigger and bigger environment like a lot of series do - most folks seem to want more of the same though.

For me, the SH series is all about atmosphere - the environments, music, creatures etc and SH4 doesn't disappoint on that level.

The entire series of Monkey Island games
All of the Broken Sword games and I've just realised the new one has just been released but our crappy low memory PC will self destruct if I get the game CD anyway near it.
Animal Crossing. Played it on my Gamecube and am playing it on my DS.
I had a fancy for all manner of point and clicks like Goblins and Beneath a Steel Sky.
Typical girl me

The best classic game was Colony on our Amstrad 6128

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colony_(computer_game)

It was like a very early version of Harvest Moon. It used to take yonks to load so I'd set it rolling and disappear to the bog with a copy of an Amstrad mag and then pray that it had loaded okay.

You couldn't save it and ours was a green screen so I thought I was looking at the wrong game when I was looking it up on Google just then! It used to crash with alarming regularity and the monitor used to get hot enough on the back to fry a full English for Johnny Vegas but it was a fab game.

Ghosts & Goblins

Remember the big ogre at the end of level 2?

Hard as nails

Then, level 3.............THERES TWO OF THEM!! ARRGHH!

I still love jet force gemini on the n64. Honourable mentions for halo, san andreas, mario 64 and worms 2.

Arcade game got to be defender .Though the atari battlezone and starwars were also good.Getting to blow the death star was way cool:) .
Starcraft was is /a great game. pity the fps version died.
deux ex machina very good if pretentious:) .
Battlezone 2 was the first pc game i really played a lot.

I have just re-aquired a PS2 and I am playing through God Of War again.

That game is fucking nails, and is one of the most visceral, compelling and satisfying gaming experiences around.

Love it - in my top 5 I reckon

In no particular order:

Maro Kart (SNES)
Speedball 2 (Amiga)
BMX Racers (C64)
Civilization (Amiga)
Command & Conquer/Red Alert (PC)
Street Fighter 2 - Championship or Turbo Fighting Edition (Arcade)

Mr Do was always my #1 arcade, used to skive off school to waste coinage on that game. Closey followed by Daley Thompson Olympic Games or whatever it was called, bashing away at the buttons and slamming the "jump" or "breathe" one in time.

Fucking Cool man.

The music was The Can-Can IIRC.

Sensi - First great game I played.

Pro ev - Just about all of them. The names were classic too: Greggs, Larcos, Robbie Bazzo :D

Civilisation 2 - I still play it today. A great strategy game.

Syndicate - I succumbed to the cheats quite early on, the mini-gun was irrestibile.

i got mame and spent about a month on it, but there is a reason these games are limited play, can't be arsed to get into something like warcraft, it's such a waste of life.

ninja, trust me warcraft 3 and the frozen throne are the ultimate gaming addition. buy it ,try it and come back and tell me you love it. ;)
