Best Frozen Pizza

I have to agree that most of them are bad, among the worst I think is California Pizza Kitchen. Way overpriced and underdone.

But there are a few that are tolerable.

In America we've got one called Essencia, it's made by the same people that do Freschetta. It's cheaper than Freshcetta ($4.95 compared to $6.95) and slightly better.

my favourite is the tesco value one, it used to be 49p, it may be more now as i haven't lived near a tesco for a few years, then top it with (pre-boiled) potato, spinach and brocoli.

even better, make your own! easy peasy, buy a pack of ordinary white bread mix if you're not sure of flour to yeast ratios, bung in some water, mix up and slap it around for a bit, roll it out...and there you go... a pizza base! all ready and waiting for your favourite toppings and they're freezable, so are well handy :)

Making the dough is a bit of a hassle. You didn't mention that you have to leave it to rise. Takes at least an hour in total.

I quite like the Ristorante ones too.

A poll commissioned by TV Nation found:

"65% of all Americans believe that frozen pizza will never be any good, and there's nothing science can do about it."

The Big Little Food Company do a lush organic stone baked one, comes in the big size or 2 lil ones. Wish i had one in the freezer now cos im starving.

they are pants

IMO of course

frozen pizza is the work of the devil i tell ya

i have, trust me on this, sampled Pizza from all over the world and the best is from a place called Captain Tonys.

bloody marvelous they are

death to frozen Pizza

Id say get yourself some pizza base mix, its cheap and easy to make. That way you can choose your own toppings and use up stuff you already have in the cupboard/fridge. Tastes much better than any frozen pizza imo but I will have to try the Dr Oetker ones :)

Dr Oetkers are pretty good.

and for real cheapskates, I recommend the ASDA two for £2.50 own make.

They're not too bad with a bit olive oil.

better still with loads of chillies on

here btw is a top pizza tip

when in germany and you fancy an extra pepperoni pizza

pepperoni it turns out is a particularly hot chillie (well either that or the local pizza place near Kielerstrasse where I was staying at the time were twats)

now add into this equation that the only real way to eat german pizza is when pissed and when pissed you dont really look too closely at what you are eating (I give you donner kebabs as a prime example here) taking a huge bite of aforementioned pizza mit Gross Pepperoni can be a bit of a shock to the old mouth

65% of all Americans believe that anywhere other than the USA will never be any good, and there's nothing science can do about it.

Chicago Town Triple Cheese :D

Big ones are ok if you oven them, small ones are better if you oven them, but ok if you microwave them for a tasty 3-minute snack :D

The sauce is fantastic. I'd love to be able to buy that stuff in jars (or make my own).

Callie - do you know, I became unsure of the roots of the budgie joke myself, until I had the pleasure  of reaquainting myself with your stupid bastard boyfriends pretend birthday thread  where I was reminded of the fact that it was actually YOU who killed the budgie.

You cunt! :(
