I remember seeing Ian Curtis. Hit fitted on stage at the Rainbow & a lot of people thought it was part of the act.
Nick cave has got a definite presence - saw him at glasto in 94, im not a huge fan but he was mesmerising.
Saw the who a couple of years ago and even a 70 year old townshend was still exuding pent up anger and violence.
Watching The Who was the inspiration for this thread
David Edwards (of Datblygu) is another I recall.
please dont tell me you saw them with moon or i will have to kill you in a fit of jealousy.
Leonard Cohen, I want to grow up like Lenny
Actually, Wilko Johnson was the real star when I saw them (several times). Couldn't take my eyes off the motorised maniac!
Shittest, by a country mile: Bobby Gillespie
I've seen Dave Grohl play live with the Foo Fighters. He's very much the Robbie Williams of rock music, only to be brutally honest Robbie has better tunes.
Also saw him on drums with QOTSA. Fucking brilliant, he should never have given up the day job
Richard Ashcroft when Verve (before 'The' Verve - spit) were playing to six men and a dog and me and my mate were two of those.
Jonathan richman, david yow of the jesus lizard, atomic suplex "the holy trinity"
Yep bobby conn good shout
Hadnt read this before posting... lets be friends
Viking Moses is a v little known one, I had several magic nights at his shows.
Genesis p orridge is totally incredible when on form, and utterly ludicrous when not. Sometimes they veer between the two positions in the same show. I kind of like that.
Yesss. That vid you once posted of some 80s performance is one of my faves
Probably this performance of Discipline. The most intense thing ever.
Mind you don't get ripped off by your agent
Oh, just seen ‘or presence’ In the title.
Bootsy Collins hands down. Obviously not a front man for either band I’ve seen him with (Funkadelic and Dee-Lite) but as a 6feet something bass playing stage presence...no competition.
If you can go on stage with George Clinton and Garry Shider in a nappy and still be the one everyone is staring at...
Really anyone who does worthwhile music on stage has charisma and presence I find, whether they're shy or outgoing or whatever. Obviously throwing your own shit around and wanking in a corner helps, but it is not vital.
Nik fiend out of alien sex fiend
Yes. Watched that a fair few times
Oh, marilyn manson. Dont care much for the albums, but he destroys it live.
In no particular order.
Just realised they’ve all gone!
love this one as well, clearly off his chops on pills too
