Not really about London as such, but some

That is one beautiful film. I love the angels on the train, listening to everyone's private fears and inner turmoil. Beautiful. In a slightly different vein, 24 hour party people gives an elevated view of Manchester in the late eighties.

25th Hour, Spike Lee's homage to his hometown post-9/11. The 'Fuck You' scene is especially powerful leaves a lump in my throat everytime I watch it.

I saw a great film shot just before ww1, a day in the life of Berlin, 24 hours of people getting up and going about their business. Not sure if that's the one you've mentioned. Very resonant.

Was it "Berlin, symphony of a city"? That's about a "day in the life of" Berlin, but it was filmed in the 1920s.

I wasn't a massive fan of Lost In Translation, but wasn't it an excellent depiction of Tokyo? Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Also - Les 400 Coups and A Bout De Souffle, classic visions of Paris. One of those two is actually referenced in La Haine (the 'turning off' of the Eiffel Tower). I think it's 400 Coups. I can't remember as we studied them both on my French film course at uni
