One of the tunes that got me into dub. Have you heard the different extended versions on Greensleeves 12"? It's the rhythm to Sammy Dread's Follow Fashion, incredible record.

i only know it from scientist meets the space invaders, but cheers - will have to check that out!

Maybe I'm subconciously trying to piss you all off, but I reckon the 'anthem' award goes to Sound Dimension by Real Rock. Massively overplayed but I don't think it's a bad tune at all, certainly a contender for me.

I'm hazy about where the borders are between reggae and dub. I mean it's easy to tell the difference between Lee Perry's more out there stuff, and say Bob Marley, but I honestly thought that song was dub...

Yeah, I know that the more modern spaced out stuff is dub, but where I got confused is that I thought some of the older stuff was dub too but obviously it isn't...

There is earlier dub that is certainly less spacey, that Scientist is early 80's dub. Scientist is better than Tubby too.

To me the difference (very roughly) - is that dub is all about echoes. If it isn't using delay effects or mentally transporting you to an echo chamber then it isn't dub (i don't reckon). I think a lot of people also consider dub to mostly be instrumental or have an mc.

If there is singing people usually call it reggae. But like all music genres, it gets a bit yknow...
