Best dance sequence in a film?

Jules, Gene and Frank - + Ann Miller! Another "On The Town" - my very favourite musical.

(am loving this thread)

It takes a while in each one for the dancing to start.....

The guy playing the piano in that second clip went out with my best mate in his later years.....

Had I but checked I would have seen the Nicholas brothers have been posted loads on this thread :o
...and orang utan posted a shorter bit of the second link :o

Best picture I could find but he's doing Chuck Berry's duck walk in it.

I know :(

I'm a real sucker for dance movies, and whenever I watch people performing dance routines (or figure skating, or other types of gymnastic activities I wish I could do) my muscles kind of twitch and jerk like another version of me is performing somewhere in an alternate universe. It's really sad.
Not for the first time, you speak the words of my true authentic heart, my dearest MK. :)

Always a fan of the Team Banzai March (starts at 30 secs):

It was designed as a dance scene for non-dancers, at the end of an 80s action sci-fi flick. Not the best of anything but inventive and huge fun :)

Surprisingly influential too (start at 1.18):

My favourite:

Because I love the film, and I love the way Goddard broke the scene by dropping the music and using the gaps to tell us what the characters were thinking. It really makes the scene for me. And Anna Karina was gorgeous in it. The way she smiles and half smiles help develop the character.

there was a load of hip hop/ breakdance films in the 80s, like wildstyle, they all had pretty good dance scenes in them, one of the main dudes was Turbo , he here is...
