best comfort foods!!!

Do you mean quick fixes or luxurious food that feels therapeutic yet naughty?
If the former, cheese on toast. If the latter, cassoulet or slow cooked lamb hanks or oxtail stew.

I don't mind jacket potato, but my mam basically force fed them to us when I was younger, so bleurrgh, I fail to understand how people can eat so many of these, really.

I've been up all night thinking about food, I think I'm gonna go have a packet of quavers.

Why do I hate the term 'jacket potato'? It gives me the creeps - maybe cos humans wear jackets and you can't eat humans.
Baked potato is better.
Sorry, as you were.

steak and kidney pie, mashed spuds and beans :)
fishfingers, chips and beans:)
scrambled egg on toast:)
fried egg and bacon sarnie (bacon crispy )

kedgeree with smoked mackerel, bacon sandwich, marmite on toast, beans with little sausages, fish pie made with double cream, sausage sandwich, fry up, ham and cheese omelette with beans and chips, cheese and ham breville.

A load of beans, corned beef, mashed potato, cheese and lard, all mixed up together, deep fried and covered in ketchup.

….

Fuck off what do you think I am some kind of tramp?

Oven roasted pigeon from Bresse with grilled polenta, crispy lardons, grelot onions, baby golden beetroot and date sauce ftw

Herein lies the dilemma - sometimes you need instant comfort - though it's generally a lot less satisfying.

sometimes instant is good, but for me one of the best comfort foods is a properly made risotto (preferably with prawns and broad beans) as the whole process of making it is so soothing too.

Yeah. I seem to recall a kind of fastfood place called Jackets which was most offputting. I don't like the taste of tweed.

mine always seems to take about 40 minutes or so, sometimes longer depending what needs to be prepared first

I like McFlurry and fries - I dip the fries in the McFlurry tho. So good XD...is that just me???

Other than that, chocolate or pizza or B&J's ice cream or homemade granola :).

cottage pie is beef mince, shepherds pie is lamb mince <<< LOTS nicer.

i saw gordon ramsey have an argument with someone about that on telly once.

tp is right. (natch...)

hot chocolate with either:
porridge with maple syrup or
toast with golden syrup

I used to have this meal every day when i came home from a miserable day at Sixth form.

That reminds me of my old favorite comfort food.

Ready Brek with cornflakes mixed in, brown sugar on top and cream poured over.

It's also nice with golden syrup too.
