How the fuck can anyone say London Calling is better than The Clash? And how can anyone like Combat Rock?

London Calling is a million times better than their debut. I'm not the greatest Clash fan but there are some cracking tracks on LC where-as their first album is just wet-arsed weakness and pub rock at 78bpm. yea, I saw them a few times and obviously a lot of the songs off the first LP were their best ones live, but that LP for my money is probably the weakest and most-overrated of all the supposedly essential punk LPs.

I thought it (The Clash) was great, good tunes throughout, good lyrics, spot on. London Calling apart from 3 or 4 tracks just sounded like a band burning out, and Sandinista proved my notion right...

A lot has been said about this, but i guess i never noticed at the time, still a good album but it woulda been interesting to hear it with a rawer edge

Picking any one album is difficult as they were far from flawless but this baby prolly is my fav cos it ties up so many stonking tunes in a reverse chronology.

And Super Black Market Clash is also one i like listening to a great deal.
