:D:D

here shippy

i just watched all of Gantz which annoyed me by not telling me anything at the end, then I watched all of Deathnote series1 which was good but I didn't want M to win. what should I watch now?

personal taste innit

the hellsing OVA is cool as fuck if you like darker stuff (gantz and death note are both kinda dark)

i'm more of the man to ask when it comes to comedy especially fan service heavy stuff

when it comes to studios i llike gainax the most kyoto anime (kyoani) probably comes second

I'd say Firefox, Opera was ok but not that faster and it doesn't work on too many sites for me. Chrome is .02 beta so I'd stay clear unless you're prepared for some buggy shit.

Firefox.

V2 was starting to do my head in, but V3 is a vast improvement. I can have a dozen FF windows open, each with a dozen open tabs, all day long now without it making the CPU melt and gobbling memory like a pregnant hippo.

For sheer extensibility you'd have difficulty bettering FF. If it doesn't do exactly what you want it to at the moment, chances are someone's already written an add-on that'll make it do it.

Microsoft's Partner website tells me that Firefox is an "unsecure, unsupported browser" which may cause performance issues with some sites (including this one).

Now, there's a shocker! :D

well i've been on firefox all day and it is a bit quicker than microsoft i suppose, and once I can be arsed the downloading stuff is much better......

the reason I started this thread is cos i've heard people say opera is loads better but I am confuzzled as to the difference

It's reputadly quicker and firefox used to be a really bad hog of memory (so effected your whole systems performance) - i think it is much better now.

Safari and firefox at home. Safari works nicely with the mac and firefox for compatibility problems. Horrible IE at work.

And who mentioned netscape. That trashed my mac hardisk several years ago and is not forgiven.
Anyone remember NCSA Mosaic ver 1.0. Life was so simple then including the single page listing all new web sites that month.

A quick bump here - I have recently gone over to Google Chrome and I have to say that it is superb. Firefox is fine and all that but the Google team have re-thought some of the main features and I like their solutions eg the bookmarks are better, the history too, the user-defined buttons from Firefox are there and convenient, and the tabs are better too, and more intuitive.

Only cons are that the Latest headlines are missing, and no stumble - tho i can always go to firefox for that.

Has anyone else swapped over? I tried because Firefox seemed to be crashing, and there are still certain websites which don't quite load as well in it - tho Chrome still suffers a little from this.

I like Firefox, the only annoying thing is that when I save a Favourite site, I can't put it in a folder like I used to be able to do.

I've experimented a bit with Chrome. It's slick and nice to use, but it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that I've got with Firefox. In any case, the latest version of Firefox is nearly as quick IME, so i'm happy to stick with that.

i think i put it well when i said chrome is like a speed boat firefox is like a battleship chrome is fast and light great for everyday browsing but some time i want the power of firefox and it's mad array of extensions especially if i'm doing web work

I use Firefox for development (Firebug, Web Developer Toolbar) and Chrome/Chromium for general browsing, which is faster and less cluttered.

This and this.

I don't understand people who don't use opera.

Its faster, more standards compliant, less bloated and even has a firebug equivilent these days.

Its amazing.

you can block ads in opera you just have to train it first and do it all manually.

I hardly get any adverts these days. Adblock plus is much better though but opera can't do be officially blocking adverts and dont really do that much third party stuff.

I'm not sure you can uninstall IE can you? I thought it was built into the infrastructure of windows??

Just ignore it. Delete any shortcuts and cut it out of the start menu/all progs etc... It'll seem like it was never there.

Google Chrome

I switched over to Chrome last week as Firefox just didn't seem to run well on my PC, it had huge problems with Facebook and every time I tried to write a message the whole PC would just grind to a halt. The same thing would happen if I tried to load certain online shopping sites like asos. Also, it couldn't load another website I use a lot at all, I was only getting half the links that should be there.

Chrome is a nightmare though! So far it's told me that urban has malware and wouldn't let me proceed and sometimes when I try and use Facebook chat it tells me Facebook is a phishing site and goes into a loop of insanity.:confused: It also still wont load this website which firefox couldn't either.

So I'm using IE more and more as it ends up being the most stable and reliable browser! I can't even remember why I stopped using IE in the first place, can someone remind me why everyone choses other browsers?

opera loads that site!!! Take a while but seems to all be in the right place.

Only time i ever use IE is for home banking, which im really not happy about.

Get opera:mad::mad::mad:

The reasons have changed over time. The big switch to FF seemed to be driven by security, stability and tabbed browsing. Tabbed browsing was a biggie, but is no longer an issue. Security is still better in FF than IE, but the more popular it's become, the more exploits have been targeted in its direction. IE seems stable these days, so that's no longer a consideration. Which leaves, I guess, the vast array of plug-ins and skins that are available for IE. And simple user preference.

I stick with IE for the plug-ins. There's nothing I couldn't live without, but a lot that I'd really miss. As I said earlier, Adblock is a major consideration. It transforms web browsing and I really notice the difference when forced back to IE.

I don't want to d/l Opera to find out that it still doesn't load properly though

Can you open this page and are you able to click through all the different rooms? (the links with the Korean writing and then the numbers next to the picture of the room)
