Best Broadband and best deal

I'm with Pipex too. Bit more pricey than the others, but rock solid service and technical support who appear to know what they're on about.

Tiscali are now offering a deal of 21.99 per month and that includes all free landline phone calls. That seems a pretty good deal . It is only for 2mb but I can cope with that. Are Tiscali that bad in peoples experiences?

never ever go with:

in my experience.

I'll trot out the usual recommendation:

www.f2s.com

fast, uncapped, incredibly reliable, cheap, gets fantastic reviews on www.adslguide.org.uk and won the majority of the ISP of the Year awards last year.

I'm with f2s and have always recommended them in the past...however...they've just been taken over by Pipex:

so I and a lot of other users are a bit nervous about the future:

Why be bit nervous? I have been with Pipex for 4 years and had about 4 to 5 days of down time!

of to read url

f2s have sent me a warning about file sharing so beware, looks like they scan for IP's on their subnet and see what is on offer. I'm sure they're just covering their arses and I've just as easily started downloading and surfing anonymously. They are also taking over 2 months to upgrade our line to 8meg...I still don't know when this is going to happen.

Eclipse, (we have four accounts with them) are quite bad in some ways. We've suffered with a lot of downtime and most days we have issues with their email servers between 3 and 4.30. It's not our connection/internal problem as we have mulitple sites and they suffer at the same time too.

V21 Are Offering A Deal For 9.98 Per Month Up To 8mb Including Free Weekend Phone Calls,

Anyone Got Any Experience Of Them?

Indeed.. Eclipse and f2s are the only ones I'd go for at home.. Zen cost too much for exactly the same level of service as offered by eclipse and f2s, though they are very good.

In principle I'd agree with that, but I can't fault Zen for a second. Their tech support and help has been exemplary - whilst BT used to fuck me around, Zen would come quickly to the rescue, sorting everything out with BT and then giving me a call back to inform me of the news. Fantastic customer service all round - folks you'd trust.

Others are cheaper, but I've got some serious loyalty for those Zen folks. I keep hoping they'll drop prices a little more, but I'm not going to move until the differential becomes horrendous.

You managed to get through?. I've been with them about three or four years, on dialup as well and only had to call them twice, both times the servers were down and it came back up fine, I've never had a problem with them.

I had some trouble with Eclipse over the holidays. I raised the problem with them - they still haven't got back to me a week later and now their site appears to be down.

The problem seems to be okay now but some kind of answer would be nice! :(

So that's Eclipse out then.

I'm a little tempted by Be - I can get a 24meg broadband line (woo hoo!) for the same price that I pay for my 1 meg Zen connection.

Anyone heard anything about these Be folks - sounds impressive, but I'd be wary of changing my precious Zen...

Ah, just logged into the Eclipse site and they had answered by query. I was expecting some kind of email notification though ... do they want me to check their site every day?!

Other than this problem (which now appears to have gone away), Eclipse have been reliable over the last 18 months for me...

We have four sites that use eclipse and they have been a pain in the arse....currently considering migrating to f2s (because if I switch 14 sites to them I get £140!) Have heard bad rumours about eclipse too, people thinking they are about to go under. I wouldn't recommend them, they always play down any technical difficukties (there have been a few) and they are not cheap compared to others.
