Only if you're a christian or biblical studies student.

(oh what, were you in them or something?)

Half Man Half Biscuit always wins awards in my mind.

And - the sheer understated, wilfully humdrum minimalism yet all-encompassing application of it - The Smiths.

Yes, that's a good name - not a stupid one, not a crazy grebo one but an approrpiate one. And good then.

And New Order.

*Bows solemnly*

Ace band, but the reference is beyond me, other than in that it's biblical.

Film first so not *their* name (boring hippies that they were anyway) !6 minute songs and dry ice. Wicked. *Just* like a 1920s german expressionist film.

reminder: Add some sarcasm

featured I believe you will all find on the 'hit the north' sessions album ('seconds out') along with the booradleys, leatherface and scorpio rising.

The first two, are good names, the third is pants.

the austin spares (multiple meanings there of course)

jerry rigged the apple press

victor vulpfeather and the flying foxxes

One of the guys from Vampire State Building is in Red Harvest now... I really need to stop namedropping them.

I quite like Premature Ejaculation just because it makes me laugh. Never heard them though.

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead is nice and menacing, even if their music is pretty boring.

Future Sound of London is another good one.

Yeah, that was Roz Williams' (RIP) post-Christian Death band - I think they released about five albums, but I've just got the one, 'Necessary Discomforts', which is an hour of rather random and vaguely doomy atmospheric soundscapes.

Me First and The Gimme Gimme Gimme's.

Splodgeness Abounds.

Chris Mills and The Miserable Bastards.

And last but not least - Anal Cunt.

:D

Heh, there was me thinking they were some snotty, foul mouthed punk band. Might check em out actually.

Kill Motherfucking Depeche Mode - discreetly abbreviated to KMFDM - is rather inspired, despite the fact that I like Depeche Mode.

I read an interview with them once where they said it stood for Keine Mehrheit Fur Die Mitleid, ie no mercy for the majority. I think the Depeche Mode allusion was made up later as a joke.
