Best Antivirus, please.

Hmm really dont see the poitn in a firewall to be quite honest and is the anti-spyware better then adaware or spybot?

will give it a "trial" as soon as i manage to get rid of an annoying virus i have on my puter. I dont wanna change products in the middle of dealing with it and its being a batsard!

I'm getting messages from AVG saying that AVG Free is coming to an end at the end of May. :(

It'll still run, like, but no more updates.

Same here - debating whether to upgrade or not. Looking at the comparison I'm not sure it's worth paying £30 - what are other AVG Free users going to do?

well you fooking should your messenger keeps spamming me with nonsense...

AVG is ok, about as good as norton only free

Nod32
FTW

 Norton is a virus in itself meaning have you ever attempted to remove it from your computer. Some versions of Norton refuse to uninstall resulting in you needing to download some extra software just to get shot of it. AVG installs, uninstalls without any problems and you do not need to spend half the day figuring out how the software works or why it will not uninstall.

clamAV is what I use now.

The new ESET NOD32 Smart Security Suite with integrated firewall and anti-spyware is superb. It uses barely any resources and runs like lightning even on really old pc's.

There's a nifty little hack that extends the 30 day evaluation to 64 years. :D PM for details. ;)

I've tried a pm anyone else?

AVG 8 flatly refused to work on my PC. I am now also a convert to Clamwin.

Its nice having a computer that is not being controlled by it's AV or any other stupid security software. ClamAM and I hate to say it the standard Windows firewall is an example of how it should be done - anything else just create more paranoia :)

I have to say that Parallels comes with a free copy of Kaspersky, and I have yet to experience a more irritating, unfriendly and intrusive piece of software. Kaspersky that is, not Parallels. As if it wasn't annoying enough having to use Parallels in the first place.

Parallels looks like an interesting bit of software? What Windows software are you running with it? Not AV and related internet security stuff?
