Best 90's techno?

for my money, other than larry heard and li'l louis DJ Rush is THEE most innovative, original and exciting house/techno...call it what you want...producer there has ever been. And an amazing DJ who IMO blows mills out of the water.

and without doubt the most 'fun' of all teh Chicago/detroit bods, many of whom are just dullards. Rush is NUTS.
I used to DJ with him quite a bit and did some recordings and remixes with him about ten years ago but fell out of touch when he moved back chicago from berlin.

hmm ok at least you have a decent excuse - my first real experience of leftfield was seeing them play live at some festival in 1994/5, and they blew my mind, so not forgotten et al just takes me back to that experience every time.

actually, i saw them at my mate's club in edinburgh just around the time 'not forgotten' came out and didn't get it then. no offence, but folk like leftfield, underworld, all those other acts who emerged from that kinda boys owny balaeric, progressive house, ponytails and white shirts scene never did anything for me other than propel me to the bar.

always just sounded like U2 on synths and drum machines to me. :(

A friend of mine released a record on his label.
I don't personally rate DJ Rush, apart from his early relesases, which are wicked.

yes. totally agree with you, i suppose i was basing my praise of him on the early stuff. his stuff on dance mania, saber, knee deep, relief, the Trax bootlegs etc... is IMO JAW-DROPPINGLY PHENOMENAL. the later stuff, after his first few EPS on D-jax anyway was just dull. I kinda lost touch with his releases after the early 2000s.

that said, all the digital primate, organ grinda stuff or his cousin, corey holloway or whatever he's called is still pretty cool and i think that's pretty much Rush 'at the controls' from what i've heard.

Basic channel-Quadrant Dub
Stasis- funky purple hot pants from mars.
Insync- Storm.

Anything played at Lost early nineties when it was held in that basement at Brixton.. & Natural science at the gardening club.. ..
