Best 60s Soul Instrumental - Nominations Thread

Yes it is. This is my All Time Favourite piece of music Of All Time. :cool:
Heard a possibly earlier 'version' of it on the radio last night - Woodchopper's Ball by Willie Mitchell

Anyway, hi M. Nice to meet you at EI :)

Liquidator's quite possibly rock steady, IMO

Bluebeat I associate with early ska, as a label with Prince Buster and the like

*DL's Alton Ellis Rock Steady to mull over*

as far as booker t and the mg's are concerned, i'd have to go with Melting Pot or time is tight;

But unless there's gonna be links to mp3's or something, there's no point, cos green onions will win it hands down, as it's much more known.

Hi - I'm new here. I've been looking all over, and for a very long time, for a soul/R&B instrumental song that I heard on the radio decades ago. It has a funky unison guitar and bass riff over a basic 4/4 drum beat, also I think there's an organ in there, and periodically there's a guy saying "Train……train!" I'd very much like to do a cover of it, but I don't know the title although I'd thought that it was "Train Time."

Anyone have any knowledge of the song I'm talking about?
