((((mr ftc))))He's back in just over 2 weeks and I am going to make him pay![]()

actually, I think he owes your friends some gin for compensation tooHe's back in just over 2 weeks and I am going to make him pay![]()

The Savannahs etc look lovely. But there's stacks of unwanted and unloved tabbies and the like out there...![]()

You've clearly done more than your fair share of providing homes to unwanted pets bob, it wasn't aimed at you - more just a general comment. Round this way, it's the staffies that are the real problem - loads and loads of them in shelters, and yet the classifieds are full of 'pedigree' pups for sale. I suspect a lot of the people buying them wouldn't get a rescue one because they can't offer a suitable home, which makes it even worse really.every other cat i've had has been a moggy. our last 2 were kittens from a rescue who turned out to have cat flu at 8 weeks, which we nursed them through and kept them both until the natural end of their lives. this dude needed a home just as much as any other cat out there. we did pay for him, but that amount would only have covered the neutering/jabs/chip he's already had, much less than a kitten from a breeder. by adopting a pedigree at least we have some idea what to expect in the way of temperament, even if that temperament is basically "mental"![]()
I am about to get a pedigree cat (long story involving a vet and a cardboard box- but we are paying market rate because we can, and it isn't obscene) but agree with all your points. You've clearly done more than your fair share of providing homes to unwanted pets bob, it wasn't aimed at you - more just a general comment. On top of that, there's the genetic health problems that come with pure breeding. I've no idea if that's an issue with cats tbh? Massive problem with dogs though.
i fear i may be ruined for lifei've had every flavour moggy under the sun, but in 24 hours he's turned me into one of those people that think their pets are kids
he's got the most wicked personality ever, incredibly playful and people-focused and he's really starting to settle in, he's been curled up asleep on my feet for the past couple of hours
and he really does look like he's been sprinkled with gold dust in the sunlight
i'm officially in love

Some friends have got one and he's a people cat too. We went over for dinner along with a few other people and he just sauntered in to the room and jumped straight on to a chair next to me - mine are friendly but wary of strangers and always hide initially.i fear i may be ruined for lifei've had every flavour moggy under the sun, but in 24 hours he's turned me into one of those people that think their pets are kids

You need to get him a high post type thing that he can jump up to and sit on surveying his domain (they absolutely love climbing).

she likes to go for walks.
do you take her out on a lead?
i have to admit trying the harness we were given on marley last night but i got cold feet when it came to squeezing his legs through, he has very impressive claws
she's gorgeousdo you take her out on a lead?

if I ever coulndt have dogs but could have a cat it would be a bengal (assuming I couldnt have a tiger or an ocelot of course)
- i won't do cos we're in town. we have enclosed gardens out the back that are safe for him to roam, out front is just roads and cars and the parks are full of dogs which i doubt would be much fun for either of us.
he really does seem to be much more dog-like than any other cat i've known.
