Got a job n' all that
Means a massive (25%) paycut, and will mean life is pretty tight for a while, but I've been told it's cool if I'm only there until something better comes along.
Nice to see my boss of 4 years is willing to create a role for me when the company is barely breaking even, even if the cunts I had the misfortune to work 'with' for 10 months don't value me. Speaks volumes to my self-esteem.

You got another job already?![]()
Back working for the people you were with before?

Changed the names slightly to prevent Google Alerts.
I've looked into it, and I don't have to work my notice if I don't want to. They have to pay me, whatever happens. So I'm gonna go in tomorrow, and for 3 days next week, then start new job. Double pay for a while, should soften the blow of the pay cut for a little while.

*adds to shitlist*
If you can pull that off, great. I wouldn't trust em to pay you though![]()
I was told in the meeting, that I'd get paid whether I worked my notice or not. The deal he was offering was a good reference in return for a month's work.
Ah, I get it. That makes it even worse to my mind. Why shouldn't he give you a good reference anyway. That really stinks.
The more I hear on the subject, the more I think they've pussy footed around naming it constructive dismissal. I haven't seen any paperwork yet, but when I do I'll know for sure.
Contructive dismissal they have to pay me whether I work my notice or not, right?
No, constructive dismissal is when a company's behaviour is such that an employee is effectively forced to resign. I take it that you didn't resign, so not constructive dismissal.
Unfair dismissal from what you've told us, yes. Also, wrongful dismissal if they don't pay your notice and benefits throughout notice period, yes (breach of contract).
Have a ganders at your contract and see if there's a payment in lieu of notice clause in there.
Ah, getting my terminology wrong!
Ok, so if I've been fired for whatever made up reason, am I legally obliged to work my notice? They suggested I wasn't, and that I'd be paid whatever happened.
