However that is no compensation for the kick in the teeth it is when losing a job (I have had one reundancy and a job loss to my name for this year!) They're making you work your month's notice? That's really mean.

Yep, there isn't much you can do with less than a year's service unless the dismissal procedures are contractual. I've got a case like that at the moment - banged in a breach of contract claim instead cos that's not service related.

Probably not But it's worth checking contract/handbook etc. Some employers can be right dim.

me being in hospital / signed off held up my redundancy process by nearl 3 months, it only actually finalised this week
