becoming a psychobilly

WAIT!!!!

Just joined the DAG forum specifically for this ( you don't know how much this has affected me and no doubt lots of my mates ).

First post with info
Okay, once and for all! It wasn't ''DAG'' that backed Ian Stuart and the Klansmen! It was a couple stand in players along the way, BUT NOT Spark or anyone involved with DAG for many years. Nuff said on this subject since many have covered it here if you bothered to look.

I'm off to search for more

LOOK!! from the discussion board

can anyone tell me the title of the records that demented did with ian stuart? been trying to find out but not having alot of joy?

NO.....WE didn't do an l.p with that cunt....

It wasn't demented it was the old bass player I think and they were called the klansmen. The musics alright as long as you don't take it too seriously.

Iam said:
Yeah, I have to admit, I've seen quite a few dodgy characters at some gigs, nasty tattoos and all sorts.

Still, some of the music is excellent. Those three US bands, Nekromantix, Rezurex and Tiger Army are all cracking.
Nekromantix are Danish.

Demented are Go are fucking cool , got my two fronty teeth knocked out watching them :D and then saw them again in a local pub , fucking great bunch of guys !

Guana Batz are cool as well .

Milesy I have a bit of psychobilly if you want to borrow some !

Here's a quality band bio. You don't get 'em like this anymore!
King Kurt...Playing mostly at the 101 Club in Clapham in the early days, the messy antics started on the night that Jef left . The rest of the band decided to turn him into a cake and smothered him in flour, eggs and shaving foam, and the fans just carried it on from there.

Most of the songs were based on the antics of Kurt the Rat, who was infact a real life rat that lived in Rory's front room. The Rat and Rodent Club was formed late 1982 and you could get a whole Saturday nights entertainment at the 101 in the form of sausage juggling, baked bean eating competitions, Smeggy fire breathing and a cheap haircut, all for 50p, unless you were a student and then it cost you £1.50....

...On stage drinking games usually started off the night with many willing volunteers getting up to drink beer through a long tube. Oh I can still hear the dulcet tones of Smeg shouting "Pipe in the bucket, 5-4-3-2-1 SUCK!!!!" Of course, those that failed, got a bucket of the coloured gunk chucked over their head.

This, added to all the flour, eggs and baked beans that were already being chucked around the venue, made for a very messy evening. As they matured they progressed to Tequilla Slammers which resulted in the band hitting the headlines due to many of the contestants being rather ill afterwards....

good selection here. i've had a few pairs from underground shoes before and they have all been good quality, althoguh i'd go for the rubber soled ones than the traditional crepe soles - the crepe soles seemed to wear down really quickly at the ends and seemed to get all sorts of fluff and dirt irremovably stuck to them.

There's also always TUK for your shoe needs. How about some pink fake fur creeper-style shoes:

:D

(These are actually quite good shoes - creeper styling with a more comfortable trainer type sole)

My TUKs :D

I was a Tiger Army gig last yeah and i specifically remember him saying something about fuck all this hairstyle crap.

Oh and you should all check out Mad Sin, fucking ace german psychos. You should also keep an eye out for a complilation called "This is horrorpunk" has balzac, nekromantix, blitzkid, rockcity morgue and loads of others. While not all horrorpunk is psychobilly it is still all good stuff.

I think Nick said something similar when we saw them in Newport, during one of the moments when he wasn't leaping of stage to batter someone... :D

I remember being quite chuffed, cos I don't exactly have a quiff. :o

Saw Mad Sin (hence posting the pic earlier) supporting Lars Fredricksen a while back, too. They were cracking.

Yeah it stuck out in my head aswell because my do isn't really psycho at all, just typical greasy student hair.

Also ditto about about the lars and mad sin thing. i remember thinking who does this fat cunt think he is, just as he barged past everyone to go on stage. lars was kinda good, i just didnt like the ending, not sure how he did it in newport but in leicester he finished with the viking and just went ON and ON about all his friends for absolutely ages, almost ruined a good gig imo.
