Beautiful Days |
Anyone going this year?
Think I'd need to see the line up before thinking about it. It's a really well run festival.
The Levellers are playing
I used to go and just pretend it was my birthday party as it's always over my bday . But I hate the levellers........
and we'll it's nice to do different festivals. ....
Levellers release statement over death of drummer's son who was hit by bus in Brighton
That's really terrible news. The poor Dad (and bus driver).
Oh that's terrible. Saw that a kid had been hit by a bus and killed, the very worst thing for any parent
Awful news, I was shocked to read that
As for the fest, we're not 100% sure we're going yet. There's still a strong possibility, but much will depend on line-up this time.
They're doing a one day thing at The Eden Project this year too. Not my thing but it might be cheaper/easier to do than a whole weekend.
Beautiful Days lineup, or most of it, now announced.
Manics have underwhelmed me for ever, but it's not all about biggest-stage headliners** tbf ....there's plenty of smaller acts that I really like .....
**All the same, what's this with waiting until June for the Friday headliners???
Dreadzone. No, Not ever.
You'd ban yourself from 74.6% of all festivals that have ever existed ever**, if you wanted to avoid them!!
**In a made-up but realistic statistic
Plus there are some other acts ....
The last headline announcement will be 30/06
Not that I care who it is
Contractual reasons most likely... they are probably playing elsewhere (probably at a price where it would work out better to go and see them at BD) and so have to wait until that gig is done before they can announce this one
dub pistols - another band who play every festival i ever go to yet have not one decent song. and the singer always comes across like a right nob.
I think it's a licensing condition of most festivals these days. Either dub pistols or gentleman's dub club play or no licence issued.
It might have something to do with one of the band/organisers losing his son FFS
So what? Do you always go to see them at every festival you go to?
It might be, but it happens quite a bit at other festivals too - often for the reason I stated. No need for the FFS, I wasnt being unsympathetic
There's always been bands that play the festival circuit. It's a good way for them to reach a wider audience and a lot of the time the bands get to do the festival for free too. I don't get the animosity. The beauty of most festivals is that there's usually something else going on elsewhere if you don't like the band on one stage
I was clearly joking.
It probably says more about the type of festival I go to, tbh.
Sorry, I have a soft spot for the Levs and BDs
Animosity was probably too strong But a lot of people do seem to get unnecessarily annoyed about it
Dub Pistols and Gentlemen's Dub Club both played at the last festival I went to a few weeks ago and I enjoyed both of them (although Gentlemen's Dub Club is a bit vague )... I bought a ticket to go and see Dreadzone yesterday too
And now you're quoting the wrong person. Shall we all start again?
Damn - you've edited
Separate names with a comma.
