beatles basher looking to reform.

Or "The Best of the Small Faces" to listen to a better pop band who also experimented without the whole "oh....aren't we being clever with this one" crap

Yep.

or the Zombies :)

Whether you like them or not, the Beatles wrote the book on how to do a 3 minute pop song, pretty much invented the modern recording studio with George Martin, and still have some of the best songs ever written in their catalogue.

Revolver, White Album & Abbey Road for me :)

no they didn't

I think George Martin did most of that.

No that was the KLF and it's bloody hard to get a copy now :(

but bloody easy to find on the internet
http://www.klf.de/online/books/bytheklf/manual.htm

eta and OP while your at it download 'how do you sleep' by Lennon (with Harrison on guitar) not quite the beatles but a fine song full of venom at McCartney...

'the only thing you done was yesterday
And since you're gone you're just another day'

'A pretty face may last a year or two
But pretty soon they'll see what you can do
The sound you make is muzak to my ears"

etc

It's cheeky but...

Torrent + Beatles discography = enough to keep you happy for a long time (well, maybe!), and you can always buy the CDs you find particularly worthy of y'cash...

Or just get One or Blue/Red albums and take it from there?

well, not if you value the object more than the ideas and information contained within

I do prefer to own books , since I find they are easier to read than loads of printed pages off t'internet . Any way Bill Drummond has allready said that books out of date so it's not worth reading anyway ;)

well, yes having just skim read it, it makes lots of references to the importance of Bruno Brooks, Top of the Pops, and erm Steve Wright of 'in the afternoon' fame... its still an interesting read tho

well I suspect radio 2 listeners have more disposable cash than radio 1 listeners so maybe bits are still relevant ! Although any mention of Bruno Brookes would instantly stiop me reading since I think the man was an utter tool

I've blanked him from my mind so I forget all that stuff . At least he's managed one good thing with his patehtic life and helped derail a beatles thread into crap nostalgia and even crapper radio dj's !

I prefer emule myself, but trying to impress a special laydee here and having an album or two subtlety lying around in view...

update: went to the shop and decided to take the easy route and buy the blue album--- but it was £25 (ffs - what a rip off, how old is it now?) and only had a score on me.

I bought the remastered L.A. Woman for £5 instead.

*starts emule*
