Why are they correlating rise of the right with the 'power-less' white working classes? Does being WC result in so much vindicaton that it turns people fash?

Liberal wank or is the BBC putting out very good / valid points for debate?

http://www.brandrepublic.com/News/767888/BBC-Two-focuses-marginalised-white-working-class

LONDON - BBC Two is to focus on marginalised sections of the white working class in its winter and spring line-up, headlined by drama 'White Girl' starring Anna Maxwell Martin.

Against a backdrop of a resurgent far right, BBC Two is asking why some sections of the white working-class population feel under siege.
The season's headline drama is 'White Girl', written by Abi Morgan who was behind BBC Two's 'Tsunami: The Aftermath' and 'Sex Traffic', and stars Anna Maxwell Martin ('Bleak House').

Provocative title that, Firky, maybe use of question mark

Its maybe because many white working class people feel marginalised and cut off, whether that is true or not is contested. The BBC has also realised it has to cater for all its audience/licence payers, cultures and opinion. One could argue this is the inevitable outcome of liberal multiculturalism that seeks to delineate people and services on the ground of ethnicity, what you reap and all that.

What's the betting , some wag(read twat) comes out with 'its chav tv!

If the majority of people embrace racism then the Left must do so too. Anything else is LIBERAL SUPREMACISM.

oi oi....thats my line......

I think Liberal Supremacists are the real racists though....

thats my point, William Joyce was a toff as was Moseley as were/are many of the far right, league of st george, etc. Zenie's comments/generalisations were a bit off...

Joyce wasn't working class was he? Kings College, OTC etc... hardly WC credentials is it?

That Lord Haw Haw didn't exist. Haw Haw as charcter had a reality long before 1939. I don't know what oddball stuff garf is offering this time.

The WC of all colours is always under siege. The white working class has also been subject to a campaign by sections of the press, the Tories, the far right, trying to convince it it is being specially targetted because it is white, which is complete bollocks, but plays well as an idea, unfortunately

The white working class have indeed been shat on. And by the same Labour Party that so many of them continue to vote for, like sheep.

No matter ones opinions on migration it doesnt change the fact that it provides lots of votes for the Labour Party via the 1st generation migrant who is traditionally a soft Labour vote if they vote at all.

Migration has not been liberalised as some kind of multicultural utopian thing, though that is sometimes how it is sold. It is a tool of capitalism to screw down costs and continue "divide and rule". It works. The right get the benefit, the left get the blame.

The genuine left is so hopelessly split that it cant make these cases. Libdems are too fly and opportunistic. The Greens have a long way to go in putting forward the genuine arguments on migration.

Instead of agonsising too much about white WC representation or any other type of representation for that matter, the BBC should focus on making good programmes and unbiased news coverage. Both these have been on the decline in recent years as a part of overall dumbing down which can be seen in all classes and cultures.

Really? Solely the m/c? Any figures etc? I woudn't dispute that the m/cs are being targetted too, but the BNP seems to succeed in former industrial areas and press like the Sun plays more for the w/c audience, no?

So you think that the idea that there is a white working class is wrong, I am not sure I get your point here, sorry.

I didn't say solely, but the areas in which they're winning seats are the areas of 'marginalised' white w/c people that the idiots behind this white season imagine.

Ant what the fuck has the sun got to do with it? They're anti-bnp as is the mirror. The papers spreading racist ideas are the mail, the express and the classic middle class broadsheets.

Err, I'm saying there is a working class, that some of em are white and that the white ones have been to some extent convinced that their hardships in life are because they're white rather than as a result fo their class position. Is that clearer?

scuse me? Where did I personally attack you, yet you feelk the need to call me a ket munkey? Cunt

Just cos you've had a shit time of it doesn't mean we all have to?

what's wrong with wanting a bit of cash in your pocket?

It is bullshit to me, not that their isn't class but the ones that seem to bang on about it so much are middle class guardian readers.

Maybe you're one of them after all...middle class heh.

Well the historical pattern for the rise of the right is getting the working class onside and then gentrifying that movement to get the middle class onboard.

Being WC doesn't, being shat on can result in folk seeing hope in the hopeless. Very similar to young British muslems seeing jihad as a viable choice.

I'm guessing the BBC prog will still be liberal wank though, and as such just make things a little bit worse.

Well, I wasn't talking about just the BNP, was I? I originally said 'The white working class has also been subject to a campaign by sections of the press, the Tories, the far right, trying to convince it it is being specially targetted because it is white, which is complete bollocks, but plays well as an idea, unfortunately.'
