That gives a warm glow of pride and a slight smug feeling. thanks for letting me be a part of it editor.

That gives a warm glow of pride and a slight smug feeling. .

I feel absolutely the opposite.

Either I should start enough threads about home security and tax mitigation to reverse public perception of Urban, or I should leave and sign up at saga.co.uk/forums.

The closest this places get to "anarchy" is when snorbury and firky have posting fests.

But some of those aren't that far from accuracy - the Independent and parts of the BBC seem to have a handle on Urban.

What's this "public perception of Urban" then? I've only posted up press quotes.

Mind you, Time Out's recent accolades describing urban as being a "Top 50 London site" and "#1 London community website" sure filled me with pride.

"a Wolfie Smith website" (Richard Littlejohn, Daily Mail)

Nice to see Richard 'I'm not gay, just starngely and suspiciously curious' Littlejohn completely missing the point as usual.

First against the wall for that whore's afterbirth, methinks.

OK, out with it, which nick are you under, Jeremy?!?:p Let's see how piercing, radical and critically minded you really are... :D :D :D

Would Sun readers know what agitprop means? And every single one of those Indie qoutes reminds me why I loathe and despise that newspaper as much as The Daily Hate...

haha yep!! Im relieved ...

... but not that surprised ... i cant imagine paxman would have a some sort of james bond type double identity as a croatian guy who posts about ten smilies in all his posts and likes discussing philosophy ... ;) :)

Would Sun readers know what agitprop means?...

I have often wondered about some of the headlines and strap lines on the Sun cover. They reveal that the journalist who write it are well educated. This may seem surprising to some considering the majority of emotional crap that is put out by the paper.

My guess is that the journalists are not addressing their readers when they do this. I think it is one set of journalists talking over the head of their readers to other journalists in other papers. I would imagine that all journalists read their competitors papers. They are just having a private joke with each other.

A similar thing happens in the world of advertising. Many of the references in billboards resonate with people who have had an art education while the main audience may just see them as strange but intriguing. It doesn't matter, the advertisement works in any case.

It is sad that the world of journalism has downgraded Urban75 from being 'anarchist' to 'radical'. The next step is to be castigated for being 'liberal'. I never for minute considered it to be anarchist, but it was good to see people in the media making themselves look daft by trying to raise fears of this dreaded website.
