As a ginger myself can I say that its fine to abuse us cos its all about the power dynamics.

We are pure Northern Europeans and as such top of the food chain so what the lower branches of the species think about us means nothing. Where as we have a duty to be kind and considerate to lesser mortals.

As to this documentary I will endeavour to watch it. I can remember something similar that a couple of 'undercover' BBC journalists tried in a some grim old Northern town with them taking over a shop and they become so desperate to provoke a response that they resorted to having a 'I love Pakistan' sticker displayed.

I think that there is a real need to address the whole anti-social behaviour element and can see the validity in why the BBC would commission this kind of programe but I do wonder if the whole racial bit is really required. That poor lady who killed herself and her daughter was white as were their attackers (or at least I have not seem any claim otherwise) and so its a problem that is not specifically racist.

Still I guess it makes for better television and seems to elicit more sympathy than it just being white on white.
 
What did they expect? You'll find this crap on any sink estate. The references to St. Annes amused me - A white family were burnt out of their homes on that estate this year simply for having been ex-residents of the next estate along so its hardly suprising what happened to the reporter who went there.

The idea that 90% of people in this country wouldnt have a problem with a BME neighbour is codswallop though. Trevor Phillips has clearly never been to the north!

People know to keep it quiet but their opinions on current affairs gives plenty away.

That 11 year old who threatened to pull his gun out.....I didn't know whether to laugh at him or pity him. If he'd tried that on me,I would have made him back up his stupid claims or he would have got battered. Little shit !
The way to remove people like that is for all the good people around there to turn on them,give them some of their own and force them out. That actually happened where I used to live and it was a much better place afterwards.
Anyone fancy a trip to Bristol ?? ;)

The same kid assaulted on more than one occasion the same person, backed up with racial abuse
One of the blokes racially abused the male reporter before smacking him around the face
Several of the other blokes hurled racist abuse and threats of violence to both reporters...
