I quite like Goldfrapp actually, although we're suposed to be strictly either/or here, but 'Hung Up' is better than anything she's ever done, even Strict Machine.

i don't think the two careers are comparable. Madonna's been around for flipping centuries - and has done a lot more records/had far more publicity than Goldfrapp.
i only liked Ooh La La from Goldfrap, and Frozen from Madonna.
i really can't stand Madonna and think in general, they're equally rubbish.
anyway, as milesy says - Kylie pisses over the pair of them.

), i've seen them live 3 times & I have to say she's quite enchanting.
Goldfrapp, oldcrap, more like, (been wanting to say that for ages) this sort of easy listening house music with a strong of avant garde fashion theme, which has no relevance to me what so ever, and has all the edgy appeal of a moody teenager.
Though grudging respect for being a bit of a mad cow, and wearing a horses tail stuck to her arse on stage.

If so, the Goldflapp's first album is no dancefloor record and there are only a couple of tracks on the second that you would want to dance to, and they are shit. Doctor & The Medics do it way better.Dubversion said:

To be fair I have not hear her second album, But her first, I just remember thinking that this will be a big favorite to play it the dinner party as "cool" background music, I found it to be basicly boring housey blandness. I felt it was rebranding lame music by wrapping it up in some cool fashions and new glam image. It is appealing to a particular age group, no disrespect we have all been there.
