Barton refused bail

Oh sure, he's in custody now because of the outstanding matter (the training ground fight).

That is the reason why he is inside - commit offences while you are already on bail, and you will probably find you end up inside.

As for him going out in Liverpool, you would think he would have the brain cells to realise that being hated by Evertonians and by the shite, together with all his other twattish antics / relations, that going out in Liverpool will usually result in at best serious abuse, at worst some twat starting on you - and that when he is on bail for assault already and his team are rubbish, he might be best staying in.

having said that Allardyce wanted all the players to be in a hotel as a team from Boxing day to the Chelsea game. The players shouted him down, it appears that Allardyce actually had the correct idea, keep them together and then they can't get into any bother.

There are more nails to be hammered in before Big Sham eventually goes.

If that's true, then surely Big Sam should go. If he can't get his players to do what he wants, he's fucked.

It is a bit of a shame though that he wasn't playing last night when City turned his "big" new team over. Oh how City fans - and players - would have laughed.

in a passing note - if I got £45K a week ( net ) and had probabaly millions in the bank, then why the FUCK would I be hanging around scabby clubs in Liverpol and getting into fights at Mc Donalds ?

you could be anywehere in the world for a day or teo

footballers lack of education and money certainly limits their cultural reference points.

maybe because that's what his mates do as they aren't footballers

the bloke is an idiot for getting in a fight again but not for drinking with his friends in liverpool and going to a mcdonalds

you huge snob :)

very lucky to be granted bail, he should start learning that he needs tolearn from his past mistakes, not just accept them and forget about them...

Who wouldn't rather go and get pissed and eat some fast food than spend time with the Barton family?

Sod bail, I'd rather go to prison than spend time with the Barton family.

Surely you would be in prison if you were spending time with the Barton family?

The Indie details his brushes with authority, and while there are a couple or three nasty events in his life (now 25), I didn't see any criminal convictions.

Is that pretty much it until now, breaking a pedestrian's leg, the cigar/Christmas party incident and the training ground fight?

IMO if he did actually stick a light cigar in someone's eye, that alone would have warrented him recieving a career ending breaking of the legs.

I'd like to know what made the Judge refuse him bail in the 1st place? Will not know until it all comes to trial.

I imagine as said earlier. He was refused bail due to another pending case. The U turn most likely came about due to strong assurances from his lawyer, club representations, that he wasn't going any where.

Guess he's not on the transfer list this month.

Well, he's gone down for six months meaning he'll probably get out late August missing a handful of games at most.

Sounds as if he battered the other bloke, not yer usual handbags at 6 paces."Newcastle United notes the sentence passed to Joey Barton at Liverpool Crown Court today.

"The club is considering the verdict and will be making no further comment at this moment." Wonder will they keep him?

I noticed in this thread that people were asking why he would go to such scabby places and putting this down to some sort of cultural reference point.

Nah, I think you are forgetting the more basic nature of fuckwits like this guy.

He went to scabby clubs, because in a scabby club he is all that, he is far and above the rest of the people in said scabby club.

Now if he goes to a top end club, where other footballers and people with great wealth go, he is just another footballer with a merc, yeah park it in the back with the other 20 mate, he ain't special.

And he is a prick and he needs to feel special and feel the center of attention all the time, so he goes to scabby clubs where he is special.

Don't make excuses about his cultural upbringing.
