Baron Cohen and Ferrell to play Holmes and Watson

Particularly the bit in 'The Speckled Band' where Roylett bends Holmes's fire-poker to show how strong he is, and Holmes easily straightens it out again.

Fuck that, why not get Vinny Jones in?
He's a magnificent actor. He could carry it really well.

Hmmm that's a combo best left under the floor beneath the lowest barrel in a pile of barrels at the world record holding tallest pile of barrels... bet some bastid TV exec would still find it though.

Oh and you can bet the rest of the 'frat pack' (Stiller, Wilson, Vaugahn et al) will all make desperately unfunny cameos throughout the film to distract the audiences attention from the fact that there is little or no plot and the film is basically just an excuse for a bunch of actors to piss about on a film set for several months showing off their, so-called, hilarious improvisational skills.

If Johnny Vaughan is going to be in it, I might check it out.

Cheers for the heads up.

Sasha Baron Cohen was rather good in is all be it small appearance in Tim Burtons's, Sweeney Todd. The guy can act, he just needs his break.

I personally don't think he is another one trick pony. Rickey I'm always the same fucking acting anywhere, David Brent, Gervais.

PS I liked The Office a lot, but come on Ricky let's change your style a bit. Sasha Baron Cohen can do it.

Hmm.

I'm not a fan of Ferrell, but he and SBC had really good on-screen chemistry in Telledega nights, so I'm going to mark this one down as 'potential'...

They did. I rate that film very highly. That and South Park the movie are the only two films I've ever seen where the audience were in "advert style" hysterics pretty much throughout. It's so very quotable too, saves me from having to come up with my own funny stuff!
